Term One Walking Excursion for Upper Primary

Earlier this term, our Upper Primary students enjoyed a walking excursion to Rotary Park with a clear and intentional purpose.

We wanted to create time and space for our new cohort to connect, play, and strengthen friendships beyond the classroom.

On a beautiful Bunuru day on Wadandi Boodja, students walked along the edge of the Wooditjup, noticing the changing flora and fauna and the subtle seasonal shifts around them. For some, the journey included parts of town they had never explored before, with the “secret” path under the bridge adding a sense of adventure.

The walk offered both a physical challenge and an opportunity to practise perseverance within a supportive group. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another and building connection through shared experience.

The afternoon was a meaningful reminder of the value of time in nature, friendship, and simply walking together as a community.
