Harmony Day

We are very excited for our upcoming Harmony Day celebrations at Margaret River Montessori School this Friday 19th March.

The message of Harmony Day is - 'Everyone Belongs'. It is about sharing the rich cultural heritages, backgrounds, languages, customs and traditions from all over the world that we have within our own communities. We know that the families in our MRMSs community are from such a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, so join us in sharing this with each other.

At 10.15am, parents, family and friends are invited to join us at school to watch the students take part in the Parade of Nations. Our Kaigi (concert) will commence at 10.30am with a whole school welcome performance of 'Wanjoo Song' in Noongar language and an Acknowledgement of Country. Parents, family and guests will then be treated to performances by each of our classes that recognise and pay respect to different countries and cultures.

This year, children, staff and family members are invited to dress up or wear something that is related to their own cultural heritage. We hope that this opens up wonderful discussions within families and amongst the children at school.

We look forward to sharing this wonderful celebration with our community. See our poster below for more information.
