Harmony Day 2021 Kaigi

Celebrating culture and diversity at the Margaret River Montessori School.

At Margaret River Montessori School, we truly believe one of the most important lessons in life is that our differences are our strengths. Harmony Day is about celebrating what makes Australia special and reminding us all that ‘Everyone Belongs’.

We had a wonderful day sharing our own backgrounds and cultural heritage with one another.

Our children welcomed the audience with a whole school ‘Wanjoo Song’ in Noongar language which was followed by a touching Acknowledgement of Country by our youngest Junior Primary students. We then heard Indonesian, Austrian, Japanese and Australian songs - all with a message of inclusivity, peace and kindness. Finally, our eldest students treated the crowd to a really special rendition of ‘We Are Australian’ in Yawuru language.

A huge thanks to our community of families, teachers and students for making today so exceptional. A special mention to Julia Whale Photography for these incredible images.
